In May, 2011, Premier Plantscapes carried out a 1,500 s.f. rooftop installation at the Two Rivers Charter School in Washington, DC, located a few blocks northeast of the Capitol.
The installation complemented the outdoor classroom on the roof of the Middle School and provided opportunities for students to actively participate in the care and maintenance of the plants. Students can easily cut open an X in the Aqualok and insert the plants.
A wide variety of plants can thrive in the Aqualok panels. Two Rivers selected Panicum virgatum, blue and red switchgrasses, Chrysogonum virginianum, Green and Gold, Liriope Muscari, Baptista australis, False Indigo, Rudbeckia fulgida, Black Eyed Susan, and Coreopsis rosea 'American Dream.'
