Aqualok Bioswales are designed to treat rooftop runoff in the most cost effective and time efficient manner at the ground level. Any potential issues regarding the structural capacity of the roof are avoided and the 170 gallon water collection containers beneath the Aqualok panel cover allow for a 12 square foot Bioswale to treat a roof area of approximately 250 square feet.
Aqualok Bioswales have been approved as a water harvesting ESD practice by the Maryland Department of the Environment as well as the Montgomery County, MD Permitting Department. Bioswales have been installed at the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) Belmont Treatment Facility in Philadelphia, Fire & Emergency Medical Services Engine Company 12 in Washington, DC., Loiederman Middle School in Montgomery County, MD and Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
